For the Artists Explore Unit, I was interested in Styrogami. Styrogami is using styrofoam cups to create a sculpture. Artists carve, cut and stack parts and pieces of styrofoam cups to make a Styrogami sculpture. So, I made my own Styrogami sculpture.
I created a "Bubble Tree" as I like to call it. I used three styrofoam cups total, one as the base and the other two make up the bubbles that spiral up into a tree like shape. I made this sculpture abstract, but like I said before, it does sort of resemble a "bubble tree". I chose to do Styrogami because it jumped out at me when I first saw it and looked very interesting and different. Then, in my project I made an abstract sculpture that was unique and different than the sculptures I saw before to try something completely new. Overall, I like how it turned out and it was fun doing Styrogami because of how unusual the media is. I am proud of how my sculpture turned out and how fun it was to make. I would definitely do a Styrogami project again.
